Typically when people think about exercising to lose weight, they think of cardio exercises. While cardio exercises are great for your heart and for weight loss, often times an exercise that focuses on toning and strengthening muscles may burn even more calories. Muscle movement and toning allows for increased blood flow to all parts of the body. This means that a well done yoga class may burn just as many calories as a spin class. When trying to lose weight it is important to include muscle work exercises along with cardio for faster results.
